Lamb Curry
Lamb curry is a dish from Indian and Sri Lankan Cuisine. It is made with lamb (typically imported favorites). This dish has a creamy and rich taste due to the use of butter, which is used to thicken the sauce. Lamb curry can be served with rice or roti bread; it can also be eaten alone.
Lamb Saag.
In its simplest form, lamb curry is a sauce containing chickpeas and curried lamb. The dish was introduced to India by the British during their colonial rule. However, there are many variations of this dish across the Indian subcontinent – from North India to South India – because of regional differences in cuisine. Whether you like lamb curry more with rice or with roti can be a personal preference. Many Indian people prefer pan-cooked or on the stove, but I like the latter.
In my family, our Lamb Curry is accompanied by Dal Makhani (Lentils) and Maachah Ke Korma (Spiced Eggplant).

Lamb Saag.
It is well-known that Indian food is one of the world’s most popular cuisines. If it weren’t for the tasty spices, which are often combined with meat to make dishes like curry and biryani, Indians would have been living on rice and lentils forever. Indian cuisine has popped up in other cultures, such as Middle Eastern, American, and British dishes.
Although there are many types of Indian food beyond saag (lentils), this dish is one of the most popular. Garlic and ginger are a must for saag, but mushrooms are now widely used. It is also often served with naans and rotis, making it hard to stick to just one serving.
Lamb Madrass.
Lamb Madras is a delicious Indian Curry dish that will make your taste buds sing. The average Lamb Madras recipe includes tomatoes, ginger, green chilies, and fresh coriander leaves in a spice paste with yogurt or cream. Lamb is slow cooked in this mixture until it becomes tender and the sauce has thickened. This dish can be served with rice or naan bread on the side, but I find it’s more delicious to eat by itself!
Lamb Madrass.
Lamb Madrass is an excellent Indian dish consisting of a heap of lamb, potatoes, onions, and tomatoes (with or without green peas or beans) cooked in a sauce of dry-roasted cumin, coriander, and garam masala. The result is succulent and spicy! This dish is so good that it makes your mouth water just thinking about it.
zaytunarestaurant in Danbury, CT, does the best Lamb Madras you’ll ever taste! We cook the lamb for hours to get a perfect roasting result and serve it with all the flavor that goes into their curries. It melts in the mouth!
Lamb Rogan Josh.
If you’re a fan of Indian food or have never tried it before, I recommend trying out lamb rogan josh. It’s an easy dish to make and has a sweet yet spicy taste that can vary depending on your choice of curry powder. I prefer to make it with the Madras curry powder I get at an Indian grocery store, but you could also experiment with others like Garam Masala or Ras El Hanout.
Lamb Vindaloo.
Lamb Vindaloo might be your new favorite dish if you love hot curries.
With slow-cooked lamb cooked in a spicy tomato-based sauce with assorted vegetables and a mix of spices, Lamb Vindaloo may not be for the faint of heart or people with sensitive taste buds! You’ll need to spend about three hours cooking this dish, but once it’s done, you’ll know it was all worth it.
Lamb Chettinad.
Lamb Chettinad is a dish popular in India, originating from the cuisine of South India. It consists of boneless pieces of meat and lamb pieces seasoned with a mixture containing ground mint, coriander, garam masala, cloves, and cardamom. The dish has an unusual green color due to the use of fresh mint leaves that are chopped finely with the other ingredients before cooking.
Lamb Karahi.
If you’re looking for a one-pot hearty, flavorful, and healthy meal, you should try making Lamb Karahi. This dish can be made in the oven or stove-top and tastes fantastic with naan bread. The recipe is made with lamb, cumin powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chili pepper powder, garlic cloves, and tomatoes. The ingredients are simmered in a pot of yogurt sauce until tender.
You will also need potatoes to make this recipe and onions to add flavor to the dish.
Lamb Dopiaza.
Lamb Dopiaza is a dish of deep-fried or grilled lamb cubes, served with a yogurt and mint sauce. It is made with ground, minced onions, spices, and yogurt. Some versions are also seasoned with coriander powder.
Lamb dopiaza originated in the Indian city of Hyderabad in the 1940s and later became popular throughout India. The dish was named after a famous Bollywood actress who had recently lost weight by following an all-veggie diet that included Dahi bhallas (yogurt) and nun’s ghee (butter).
Chicken tikka masala.
It’s the most popular British dish in the Indian subcontinent and a signature dish of British Indian cuisine. And, like curry, it’s made with spices which include chili and turmeric. In addition, it contains chicken (or lamb) pieces cooked in a creamy tomato sauce flavored with onion, garlic, and ginger and typically served with basmati rice or naan bread.
Some commentators often describe Chicken tikka masala as Britain’s favorite dish — it has been called “Britain’s true national dish” — but others dispute this claim by pointing to dishes such as roast beef or fish & chips also being very popular.
